Grove Studio is a small, principal-led architecture and interiors practice for residential clients who want a home that is personal, carefully resolved, and properly managed from first conversation through to construction.
We fundamentally believe a home should be a pleasure to live in. We bring curiosity, practical knowledge and a love of design to every project. Your interests and the way you want to live inform the work, alongside the history of the house and the character of its surroundings. Through close collaboration with you, we develop these influences into architecture and interiors with a character of their own.
We work with an established network of builders, makers and suppliers who share our commitment to excellence, creativity and integrity.

About the Practice
Grove Studio is a Melbourne-based architecture and interior design practice specialising in residential renovations and extensions, with a particular love for heritage homes.
We believe good design makes everyday life easier and more enjoyable. A home should bring people together, offer respite from busy days and adapt as life changes. We see lasting usefulness as an important part of our approach to sustainability.
We design architecture and interiors together, from the floor plan to the door handles. We care about how things are made, how materials age and how a home feels to use. Much of that care goes into anticipating ordinary actions: where you put the groceries down, how you move between preparing food and washing up, or whether you can step outside to cook under cover when it rains. Thinking these things through is part of making a home a pleasure to live in.
The practice takes on a small number of projects, with Dylan leading each one throughout. This allows time to get to know our clients, develop ideas together and see those ideas through documentation and construction.
Those relationships are a lovely part of the work, and often continue long after clients have moved in.
About Dylan Grove
Dylan Grove is a registered architect with over a decade of experience in architecture and interiors across Melbourne and Copenhagen. He leads each project personally, bringing creative ambition and the practical knowledge to carry ideas through construction.
His approach draws on research, design history and a love of materials and making. He enjoys finding connections between architecture, interiors and objects, developing ideas that give each home its own identity.
Personable and proactive, Dylan works through complex questions and explains them clearly, helping clients understand their options and make informed decisions. He works closely with consultants, builders and makers to keep the design’s ambition intact as the project develops.
Originally from New Zealand, Dylan studied architecture at RMIT in Melbourne and undertook an exchange at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. His time in Denmark deepened his appreciation for the relationship between buildings, furniture and craft.

Every project begins with a conversation. Book a time below and Dylan will call you to discuss what you have in mind and where you are in the process.
You might be considering a property, exploring your first ideas or already speaking with designers or builders. We can talk through your questions and help identify a useful next step.
Most projects begin with a Discovery package, a fixed-fee first stage combining design exploration with research and practical advice on scope, budget and planning. This package is currently $5K + GST, Dylan can discuss availability during your call.
We bring our designs, research and recommendations together in a printed booklet, which we present and discuss with you. It gives you a clear basis for deciding how to move forward, with no obligation to commission further work.
